BREAKING NEWS: Gist - Central Falls Teachers, Administration Reach a Deal

Education Commissioner Deborah Gist announces that teachers at Central Falls High School and the school district have struck a tentative agreement that will allow teachers to keep their jobs while the school undergoes a number of significant reforms. Gist spoke with GoLocalProv in an exclusive interview about how the deal was reached and what the next steps are for the school.

Central Falls has been an embarrassment - my hope is that if the teachers come back they do so not as bitter municipal workers, but as teachers dedicated to their students.

It is time for better performance.
