2 RI Professors Named by Website As Those Who “Discriminate Against Conservative Students”
Monday, November 28, 2016
A new national website has been launched by the conservative group Turning Point USA -- and they claim the mission of their Professor Watchlist is to "expose and document college professors who discriminate against conservative students and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom.”
Two professors who teach at Rhode Island universities made the list — one at Roger Williams University and another on the faculty at the University of Rhode Island.
Recently, at Brown University there were two cases of vandalism against the American flag, including one event in which a female Brown student pulled remembrance flags for Veterans’ Day and trashed them.

The two professors listed by the website are:
Stephan Brigidi
Stephan Brigidi is an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University. Brigidi requires students to read his sexual fantasies for his Core 105 class; a class that students have to take in order to graduate. The textbook assigned for his class is a novel he wrote titled “Afraid of the Dark: A Venetian Story.” The novel includes what students describe to be crude drawings of naked women and explicit description of sexual encounters. Brigidi also acknowledges that his arguments “reek of socialists leanings” and has described “the American capitalism, free-enterprise system” as “the root of all problems in this country.”
Dr. Erik Loomis
Dr. Erik Loomis is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rhode Island. In 2012 Loomis stated, “Fuck the NRA” without a hint of subtlety. Loomis, upset in 2012 over the Sandy Hook shootings, also said the NRA is a terrorist organization. He tweeted he wants NRA CEO “Wayne LaPierre’s head on a stick.”
