LIVE: RI Dept. of Health Dental Director on RI’s #7 Ranking

Dr. Sam Zwetchkenbaum, the Dental Director for the Rhode Island Department of Health's Oral Health Program, joined GoLocal News Editor Kate Nagle in studio on LIVE where he spoke to Rhode Island being ranked #7 in the country for the oral health of its residents.
The recent study released by Oral Health America looked at such factors of persons 65 or older with tooth loss, the number in that age group with a dental visit, the number of covered Medicaid services, and more.

Zwetchkenbaum also spoke to efforts by RIDOH to educated both patients and providers, in what he says is a growing need to merge primary care health with dental, citing medications for aging populations for instance that might need specific dental.
