Kathy Orovitz, Senior Vice President, Navigant

Kathy Orovitz,  Senior Vice President of  Retail Banking at Navigant Credit Union, joined GoLocal LIVE's Business Monday to chat about trends in retail banking and delivery channels. Orovitz discussed the expansion of "brick and mortar" with the addition of a new branch in Wakefield and a major initiative to develop and implement superior online banking tools.

Navigant is releasing a new app for smart phones -- another tool to support consumers changed behavior and demand for mobile banking tools.

Navigant recently announced its expansion.

“Consumer demand for a Navigant Credit Union presence in South County has grown over the last several years. By way of our agreement with Chartway, we’ve now found the right opportunity to bring our unique brand of customer service and top-notch banking products to southern Rhode Islanders,” said Gary Furtado, President/ CEO of the 81,000 member Navigant Credit Union. “We’re so excited to make Wakefield our newest location.”

The spin-off would transfer Chartway’s branch along with their assets, loans, and ATMs in the area, as well as any Chartway members who live in Rhode Island.  In addition, Navigant has plans to retain all existing local employees.
