Leah Bello

Leah Bello with Providence Animal Rescue League says PARL has several rabbits looking for homes, so many they are offering a special promotion to help with adoption costs. Pikachu, who visited GoLocal LIVE, is a three-year-old female rabbit up for adoption.

Bello says rabbits can make for great pets, while they tend to be a bit nervous at first, once they connect with their owner they can open up and be quite loving and fun. Bello says her pet rabbit plays with toys and watches TV with her on the couch.

PARL is hosting three community vaccination and microchip clinics this summer at their location 34 Elbow Street. The dates are June 11, July 16, and August 13.

Bello says the purpose is to help the community keep their pets up to date on vaccines and provide microchipping at a reasonable cost.

Cats and dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash or in a crate.

Pints for Paws signature a beer tasting fundraiser is changing this year, Bello says. This year it will be held at PARL and they’ll open up a block party for the community. Pints for Paws is June 26.
