Robert Capron, star of Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Diary of a Wimpy Kid star and Rhode Island native, Robert Capron, already has an impressive career in front of the camera, and now has aspirations to work behind the scenes in screenwriting and directing.

Capron, who began acting as a child in a Trinity Repertory Company-sponsored acting program for kids, went on to appear in multiple professional acting roles including the 3-movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise, a recurring role on CBS' Elementary, and has voiced roles in animated feature films such as Frankenweenie and Tarzan.

He recently played Jack Black’s son in the up-coming feature film The Polka King, which was shot in Rhode Island.

Capron is currently finishing his first year at Brown University studying Film and History.  He recently co-produced and co-directed his first short film and admitted, “I would love to be a show runner one day” of the possibility of one day being the head writer and creative authority of his own television series.

He will be hosting the Give Me 5 Teen Film Festival on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Odeum Theater in East Greenwich, which gives teen filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their short films in front of a panel of industry professionals. Tickets available at www.greenwhichodeum.com
