Actor Dashaun Young, who plays Simba in Disney’s The Lion King , says he is still taken aback by the costumes and puppetry in the show, even after spending years with the show.
“It’s mind-blowing, you kind of lose track and forget you are looking at people inside of a costume,” Young says, “it’s beautiful and a work of genius.”
Young says his favorite part of the show, that he’s not in, is The Circle of Life.

Young says he always plays the good guys in shows, so if he had the chance to play another part in The Lion King, he’d like to play Scar and explore being a bad guy.
Disney’s The Lion King runs through March 19 at The Providence Performing Arts Center.
