Whether you're a runner or a walker, it's time to lace up those sneakers and join fellow Rhode Islanders in a great cause. The 2nd Race Against Racism is coming to Woonsocket on Sunday October 7, and here's a chance to put some real good into your upcoming Columbus Day weekend.
Registration is now open for the 5K run/walk, which will be held during Woonsocket's annual Autumnfest celebration. The entry fee is $25 and $27 the day of the race. Proceeds from the race will support community and racial justice efforts.
Hitting the road for social justice
Race Against Racism at Autumnfest is intended to unite people of all races, demonstrate our community's commitment to eliminating racism, and celebrate our diversity, according to YWCA Rhode Island, lead organization of the event. Proceeds from the race will support community and racial justice efforts.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. First place age division winners are also awarded for male and female finishers (no double dipping).
Community groups united
