If a trip to London isn’t in store for you this summer, have no fear--you can catch some of the world’s best tennis players in action right here in Newport. Direct from Wimbledon and just before the Olympics, some of the most exciting players on the ATP World Tour are heading to Newport to compete in the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, which will be hosted July 9 – 15 on the historic grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

No. 1 American John Isner to headline

Headlining the star-studded player field will be current No. 1 American and world No. 10, John Isner, who captured the title at the tournament last year and has had an outstanding run ever since. Joining Isner in this year’s exciting Newport field will be the record setting, 11-time Grand Slam champion doubles team, the Bryan Brothers; world No. 20 and Japan’s No. 1 player, Kei Nishikori; Canada’s No. 1 player Milos Raonic, currently ranked world No. 22; and former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt.

Off-the-court activities

A fun-filled schedule of special events top off the action on court.  Festivities kick off on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8 with Family Weekend, featuring tennis clinics for kids, face-painting, balloon art, museum scavenger hunts, and more. On Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10, the International Tennis Hall of Fame will offer free tennis clinics for all ages; Monday, July 9 is also Kids Day, featuring a clinic with an ATP World Tour pro (reservations required; and Friday, July 13 is Military Appreciation Day—with half-price tickets for military).

Capriati coming to town July 14

A highlight, as it is every year, will be the annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, July 14 at 12 p.m. At this grand celebration, the highest honor in tennis will be presented to former world No. 1’s Jennifer Capriati and Guga Kuerten, Spanish tennis star Manuel Orantes, tennis industry innovator Mike Davies, and the late wheelchair tennis champion Randy Snow. On Sunday, July 15 at 10 a.m., new Hall of Famer Guga Kuerten will be back in action with a special Exhibition Match.
