Wickford Art’s Abstract/Avant Garde Show Call for Artists Begins Sept. 28

The Wickford Art Association has announced that the call for art in all fine art mediums for the Abstract/Avant Garde Show is on Wednesday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, September 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The reception is on Sunday, October 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the show runs through Sunday, October 23. 

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Abstract/Avant Garde Show 

The show is juried by contemporary abstract landscape artist Sue McNally. 

McNally is a painter who lives in Newport and works in both Rhode Island and southeast Utah. 

She makes large-scale landscape paintings, small abstract paintings and self portraits that have a focus on formal aspects of painting and drawing, balanced between traditional and contemporary languages. 

McNally is currently working on This Land Is My Land, 50 large-scale paintings, each representing one of the 50 United States

Sue holds an M.F.A. from The Savannah College of Art and Design and has been a resident artist for Two Coats of  Paint, Ucross Foundation, Yaddo, and the Vermont Studio Center.
