Weird Al Brings Down PPAC!
Thursday, September 15, 2016
Weird Al came, he parodied, he polkaed, he conquered! Weird Al Yankovic brought his merriment of musical parody to The Providence Performing Arts Center on Wednesday. Yankovic, a four time Grammy winner whose career has spanned forty years, performed with the same energy and exuberance that has long been his trademark. Weird Al brought down the packed house with his long list of hits such as Fat, Eat It, White and Nerdy, Smells Like Nirvana, and Amish Paradise. Numerous costume changes, Weird Al walking the aisles, and humorous video intermissions kept the pace of the two hour show at a fevered pitch. Yankovic engaged the audience with his zany music mockery, with the support of a fantastic backup band. Rick Farrell of GoLocalProv was there capture the show. You can view his photos in the attached slideshow.
