Elephant Birthday Party at the Zoo, Providence
Saturday Be a real party animal this weekend with an Annual Birthday Party Club event at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. To celebrate the birthday of the African Elephants, Alice, Kate, and Ginny, the zoo will host activities for both the elephants and attendees, from 11am-3pm. Festivities include an elephant education station, a create-a-party-hat station, a yoga event by Laughing Elephant Yoga, and the chance to watch the elephants being fed birthday treats. 11am-3pm. A Public Conversation About Our Founders and Their Intent, Newport
Friday Gain a better understanding of this place we call home as four panelists respond to questions about the intentions of Rhode Island’s founders, this Friday. Panelists include New York Times bestselling author on RI history, John M. Barry, professor of theology studies Daniel Cowden, professor of American History, John Fea, and author Michael Feldberg. This evening is just one part of the Spectacle of Toleration, a yearlong event commemorating the 350th anniversary of King Charles II’s charter. Celebrate with RI Charter at a state house open house, where you are free to explore the halls, take part in Junior Ranger activities, view Native drumming.
