Weekapaug Inn Reopens This Weekend

Friday, October 05, 2012

Beloved by generations, the Weekapaug Inn reemerges as a luxury destination, and will reopen to guests this weekend. Photo: Weekapaug Inn.

A beloved Rhode Island inn makes its debut this weekend after a five year, $20 million renovation. The Weekapaug Inn, now under the management of the renowned Ocean House in next door Watch Hill, will welcome its first guests this weekend.

Interested in checking it out? Now's the time, as the inn will be offering a special introductory "Prelude" package with 30-percent savings on lodgings through December 31, as well as a one-category upgrade based on availability upon arrival and a $50 credit for use at the inn.

Luxury travelers have been eyeing the Weekapaug's transformation, particularly since it was announced that Ocean House Management, LLC has assumed management of the historic hotel. Weekapaug Inn now joins the Ocean House as a collection of seaside resorts renowned for their scenic Rhode Island oceanfront setting, sense of tradition, exceptional food and highly personalized service.

The making of a luxury inn

With the support and cooperation of the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission, the inn has reduced its 67 rooms to 27 guest rooms and 4 2-bedroom Signature Suites. On the site of the former tennis courts now resides a 3-lane, 75-foot lap pool connecting to a fitness center. And as fall turns to winter, guests at the four-season luxury inn will enjoy heated bathroom floors and many wood-burning fireplaces. Three dining spaces promise modern spins on New England coastal cuisine.

Big sister

Just five miles away, the AAA Five Diamond Property and Relais & Chateaux Ocean House will serve as Weekapaug's sister property, allowing guests of the Inn to use RI's only Forbes Five Star OH! Spa, 5 restaurant outlets, championship croquet, 2 squash courts and a gorgeous, 650-foot private white-sand beach.

For more details on the introductory prices at Weekapaug, call 888-813-7862 or go online, here.
