Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard hosted a VIP Barrel Tasting for distributors, restaurateurs and industry professionals this past Monday, May 12.

There were close to 50 people in attendance.

Last fall, Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard purchased 75 new oak barrels from the vineyard.

The barrels are sourced from Hungary, Russia, United States and France.

Gerhard Ziemer, from Artisan Barrel Company which is based France and California, hosted this past Monday's VIP Barrel Tasting.

Banner Year for Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards

The tasting was just one of many highlights at the Vineyard over the past year.

Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards has won several international and domestic awards. The vineyard produces more than 30,000 cases annually.

Blessed Blend, the first release since the purchase of the vineyard by Carolyn Sakonnet in spring 2012, was launched last October. It is available in wine shops throughout the region.

At the 14th Annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition this past March, Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard won 3 medals.

The vineyard received a Gold Medal for Blessed Blend, a Silver Medal for Port and a Bronze Medal for Winterwine.

Last fall, the Boston Celtics named Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard as their official team wine.

Greenvale Vineyards
