The Mob and Me: Arlene Violet on Federal Hill
Friday, October 08, 2010
Former Attorney General Arlene Violet's just-released book with former US Marshal John Partington, The Mob and Me: Wiseguys and the Witness Protection Program, details the fascinating story of the development of the program that allowed mid-level criminals to survive and be used in prosecutions of high-level crime bosses. The first-person narrative from Partington's perspective covers ground from Atwells Avenue to a convent in Cumberland, and Violet took time between book signings to tour the famous (and infamous) locations and share some stories.
Here, Violet reminisces from the site of New England crime boss Raymond LS Patriarca's "office," the former Coin-o-Matic Vending Company at 168 Atwells Avenue. For what happened at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul just across the bridge, go here.
