The Mob and Me: Arlene Violet and the Convent Connection
Saturday, October 09, 2010
Former Attorney General Arlene Violet's just-released book with former US Marshal John Partington, The Mob and Me: Wiseguys and the Witness Protection Program, details the fascinating story of the development of the program that allowed mid-level criminals to survive and be used in prosecutions of high-level crime bosses. The first-person narrative from Partington's perspective covers ground from Atwells Avenue to a convent in Cumberland, and Violet took time between book signings to tour the famous (and infamous) locations and share some stories.
Here, Violet visits a most unlikely site ... a convent in Cumberland. What's its role in the story? For more: what happened at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, go here.
