Sometimes you just need to scream... and jump out of your skin... and cower behind your friends in abject terror. And now's the season for the scariest, freakiest haunted houses. We've scouted the absolute best ones in New England, and trust us, these are worth the drive.

Witch's Woods

Westford, MA

You get the full bang for your back at this terrifyingly large haunted scream park. In addition to the haunted hayride through the woods, you can enter three haunted houses if you think you can handle them. Explore Nightmare Mansion, the dark dungeon known as Castle Morbid, and the special 3D Keeper's Crypt. Also check out the Jack O'Lantern Jamboree and the Horrorwood Chamber of Chills.

Factory of Terror

Fall River, MA

The Factory of Terror consists of three key haunts centered around the theme of a fictional, horrifying mass murder. Bloodworth Dungeon is a factory full of rooms haunted by tormented spirits. USS Salem Haunted Ship

Barrett's Haunted Mansion

Abington, MA

Barrett's provides horrors you do not expect, and they plan it that way. The staff changes up the ghouls every night so you always have to be on your toes, even if you've been there multiple times. For the most daring among us, Barrett's will be holding its Blackout event on October 24th.  All light will be eliminated from the house and the ghouls and creepers will be let loose to do what they wish.

The Dark Manor
