Back in the 401 for summer vacay: Michaela McManus

What do celebrities do for summer vacation? They tuck away in Rhode Island, that's what. TV star (and Warwick native) Michaela McManus was spotted in Little Compton at the luxurious Stone House Inn, enjoying some R&R at the internationally known destination getaway. McManus has been a hot commodity since leaving the Ocean State for Fordham, NYU, and then the West Coast... she played Chad Michael Murray's love interest Lindsey Strauss on One Tree Hill, ADA Kim Greylek on Law and Order: SVU, and had a recurring role in the Vampire Diaries. McManus is also featured in Awake, a new drama produced by 20th Century Fox Television...

And speaking of Little Compton, when hot local artist Travis Davison Snow (whose work graces the public spaces of the Stone House), had a showing of his work this summer, two fans who'd come to the show decided to spend the night at the Stone House. Those fans? None other than Tallulah and Scout Willis (famous dad Bruce Willis was in Little Compton as well). Scout, of course, will be back in Providence in a few weeks, returning to Brown and

Loving Newport, for real: Ramona Singer

getting used to her former roommate Emma Watson no longer being there. But East Side watchers are looking forward to their Demi Moore and Bruce Willis sightings, not to mention Ashton Kutcher, who is known to be on Thayer Street more than Scout's biological parents...

Wine lovers and reality TV junkies loved that Real Housewives of New York's Ramona Singer was all over Newport this weekend, promoting her new line of Pinot Grigio and generally having a fabulous time at the Newport Wine Festival.  Singer was a doll by all accounts, posing at every stop for pictures with fans of her work (and her wine). Singer stayed, where many celebs do, at the Viking Hotel during her Newport stay, and her husband Mario put in some tennis time at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. She took in the city with real love, eating at 22 Bowen and 41 North restaurants, touring Rosecliff and brunching at the Castle Hill Inn, getting out on the harbor in a yacht and taking walks through the historic parts of town. She tweeted her weekend in RI as "perfect." Sounds that way to us...

When she was an undergrad at Brown University she was known as Chapin, but country superstar Mary Chapin Carpenter

Back in the neighborhood: Mary Chapin Carpenter

was back in the area this weekend to wow the crowd at the Zeiterion Theatre in nearby New Bedford. Carpenter made an indelible mark on the business by winning 5 consecutive Grammy awards in the 1990s, and continues to play to a sprawling fan base.

American Idol stalker alert.. they're coming! When American Idol Live hits the Dunk this weekend, there's some serious reality singing royalty entering the 401. Top snag for paparazzi? Scotty McCreery, the youthful crooner who snagged the Season 10 crown when he was only 17 years old, and became the second youngest Idol winner ever (Jordin Sparks, who took Season 6 at age 17, but younger than McCreery, holds the title).
