She's edited fashion magazines and made reality tv ratings history: author Kelly Bensimon, charming fans at Mohegan Sun.

Is it us, or do all the Real Housewives of New York City stars just love our neck of the woods? Ask RHONY personality Kelly Bensimon, who was at Mohegan Sun's Sightings and Signings event to promote her new book, I Can Make You Hot!  Lovers of the urban escapades of the New York Housewives may recall that Kelly, who appeared on the Bravo series in seasons 2, 3, and 4, got into a scrap with RHONY Bethenny Frankel in the highest-rated episode of the series' history. At Mohegan Bensimon, the former wife of French photographer Gilles Bensimon, signed for fans, then headed to the casino's Tuscany Patio for a cocktail. Bensimon's expansive fashion sense (she was not only a model, but has designed jewelry and was editor of Elle Accessories) made her the perfect expert for that vexing question about Memorial Day and wearing white. Bensimon said she thinks it’s totally fine, and that she likes seeing white and wearing it in the winter when it’s dreary out. But, she said, keep those white shoes until after Memorial Day!

While soaking up the love at Mohegan, Bensimon dropped in to see her friend, Rev Run, who was playing in the Wolf Den that night. Rev. Run or DJ Run, is the hip-hop legend who co-founded Run-DMC with Jam-Master J, and DMC. A practicing Pentecostal minister, Rev. Run also has made his mark on TV, having headlined his own MTV series, Run's House, a reality show revolving around his everyday life and was produced by Sean Diddy Combs. And talk about an artsy family… Run's brothers are abstract expressionist painter Daniel "Danny" Simmons, Jr., and Russell Simmons, co-founder of Def Jam Records.

With commencements all over the state this weekend, it was a non-stop, mortar-board celeb fest. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright held more than a thousand Roger Williams University seniors rapt with her advice and tales of visiting more than 100 countries during her tenure. And even this esteemed public servant has had a turn in the celebrity spotlight: Albright guest-starred on the TV show Gilmore Girls in October 2005, playing herself. Rhode Island's brightest star, Viola Davis, took to the stage at Providence College to exhort the class of 2012 to strive for authenticity. Davis had a hometown double-header this week, honored at the Trinity Rep's 2012 Pell Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Davis' upcoming film, Don't Back Down, in which she co-stars with Maggie Gyllenhall, has just released its trailer this week. And over at JWU, renowned chef Daniel Boulud, owner of Restaurant Daniel in New York City, picked up an honorary Doctorate of Culinary Arts. Boulud hosts After Hours with Daniel, a behind-closed-doors high definition TV series on MOJO that looks at the late night dinners that chefs create for fellow chefs.

He's got to be the kindest celebrity stylist on television, and he'll be in Rhode Island next week to meet, greet, and share styling tips. Nick Arrojo, the charming Englishman who helped finish the makeovers on TLC's What Not To Wear, has launched his own product line, and he'll be at Seiren Salon in Providence's Jewelry/Knowledge District on May 30 from 6:30-8:30pm to visit with fans, sip cocktails, and talk style. Some of Arrojo's celebrity clients include supermodels Melissa Keller, Yamila Diaz, and Karen Ferrari; actors Minnie Driver and Liev Schreiber; musicians Bryan Adams and Bernard Sumner; and British comedian and performer Victoria Wood. And don't worry... Stacy London and Clinton Kelly won't be there to put anyone in the dreaded 360 degree mirror room.
