Strike a pose: good-natured Kendra Wilkinson posed for the paparazzi and hung out with fans at Mohegan Sun.

Is there a week that goes by where some food celebrity doesn't hit Rhode Island? Celebrity chef Casey Shiller (a Johnson & Wales alum and winner of the Food Network's Cupcake Wars) was in Rhode Island this weekend judging "Cupcake Madness", a baking throw-down in Narragansett that was a fundraiser for Friends of Hazard Castle. That's a delicious cause...

And if that wasn't sweet enough, Playboy superstar Kendra Wilkinson was at Mohegan Sun on Friday, signing autographs and meeting fans as part of Mohegan Sun's Diva Fridays. The ebullient blonde signed everything from her book, Kendra, to Girls Next Door DVD sets, Playboy covers and pictorials. Most know Wilkinson from being one of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner's three girlfriends and for the chronicling of that life in the Playboy Mansion (The Girls Next Door). Not a Playboy playmate, Wilkinson has nonetheless posed au natural with her GND costars Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt. It was Amazing while it lasted: boyhead buddies from the 401 Joey "Fitness" Sasalla and Danny Horal.

She was a semiotics/film theory major back in the day, and writes that what she has learned right here in Providence has been the backbone of her career...

It hasn't been a great week for Rhode Island's reality TV competitors.  Everyone in the 401 mourned the departure of local singer Erika Van Pelt from the latest round of American Idol, and the Ocean State is ready to welcome home its favorite talent, who is due home this week. Meanwhile, Joey "Fitness" Sasalla and Danny Horal were eliminated from the 20th season of The Amazing Race in Sunday night's broadcast. "We were just starting to get better, but we made it six legs and for a couple of kids from Rhode Island, that's not bad at all," Danny said following his team's ouster. "Everything we've done in this Race was new to both of us, so we have to be just thankful that we experienced new places," Joey explained. "We made it six legs. I'm pretty happy. I don't think any of our friends would even think we'd be able to pull something like this off, so I can't wait to go home because we're going to tear it up!" The boys now make their homes in New York, and seeing as Danny is a nightclub promoter, maybe he'll catch up with Rhode Island's huge reality star, Pauly D
