America's sweetheart, shopping in the PVD: Anne Hathaway.

If you thought you felt another burst of bright-light celebrity in Providence, you were right. The radiant and talented Anne Hathaway was spotted shopping at Providence Place's Nordstrom this weekend. Hathaway is the second megawatter to have been in the Ocean State in as many weeks, on the heels of Hugh Jackman (featured in last week's Seen) with whom she will be starring in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables. Hathaway will play Fantine in the highly-anticipated version of the Broadway sensation, but before that,  she'll be heating up the screen as Cat Woman in the latest Batman flick, the Christopher Nolan-directed The Dark Knight Rises for Warner Bros.

Funny man Jeff Dunham was in Providence this weekend, wowing them at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on his "Controlled Chaos" tour. Dunham had polled his fans via Facebook for where to eat while in Rhode Island, and more than 300 fans chimed in on the thread, recommending everything from cultural classics like Gregg's, Wright's Farm, and Olneyville New York System, to local spots on Federal Hill (and even the food court at Providence Place Mall). Everything was smooth as silk for the comedian who works with oversized and hilarious puppets, and by all accounts Providence missed a brush with an unexpected comedy. The following night in Rochester at the Blue Cross Arena, Roadie the dog walked on stage during Dunham's show, and, according to the comedian, "squatted and pooped" in front of 8500 fans and on a 40-foot Jumbotron.

While hometown fave Viola Davis didn't nab the Best Actress statue at Sunday's Golden Globes, another Rhode Island connection took the spotlight. Claire Danes, who took honors for Best Actress on a television show (for her work in Homeland), righted a wrong from the the last time she won a Golden Globe. That was in 1995, when a 15-year-old Claire won the exact same award for My So Called Life, and the young star in the making forgot to thank

her parents. Danes made sure to thank Mom and Dad this time around (and her mother was her Globes date this year), who met in Rhode Island while they were studying at RISD. And in another RI twist, Viola Davis was beat out by Meryl Streep, late of Newport and whose face still graces Vogue magazine with the Charlestown shoreline in the background. As the music swelled up on Ms. Streep's acceptance speech, the finished with, “I love you, Viola. You’re my girl!”

Pauly D and his Jersey crew made the news this week when the gang from Jersey Shore were voted "The Worst Neighbors of 2011" on the fifth annual Zillow Celebrity Neighbor Survey. Ouch. The gang led by RI's most celebrated homeboy beat out runner up Charlie Sheen, 28 percent to 21 percent. Also on the list, recent RI-spotted celeb Kim Kardashian at 13 percent, who also, strangely, made the Most Desirable Neighbor list.

And speaking of DJ's keep an eye on another one. AraabMUZIK, straight outta Providence, is making a bigger and bigger name for himself on the national hip hop circuit. Already an internet sensation, he's been shouted out as a featured underground performer at the highly touted Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs, California, this spring. AraabMUZIK is in good company with headliners Radiohead, Dr. Dre & Snoop, Bon Iver and Florence + The Machine.
