RISE Marks 15 Years Supporting Kids of RI’s Incarcerated Parents

Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), a Providence based nonprofit serving all of RI, will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its work empowering children of incarcerated parents at Still We RISE, a breakfast event, on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9-11am at the Hilton Providence.

Still We RISE will feature the release of RISE’s 15 Year Report, testimony from RISE founders, family members, mentors, donors, and alumna as well as performances by Roderick Jones, a RISE Alumni and the St. Mary’s- Bay View Chorus.

For 15 years RISE has empowered hundreds of Rhode Island children and their families by recruiting and sustaining hundreds of mentors, countless sponsors and donors and partnering with private and parochial schools throughout the state.

The mission of RISE is to provide scholarships and mentoring to children of currently and formerly incarcerated parents in order to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty, crime and addiction.
