RIC’s Stillman Teams With Dream Theater Keyboardist Rudess for Piano Concert
Thursday, December 13, 2018
Rhode Island College artist-in-residence Judith Lynn Stillman is teaming up with Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess for a “Dynamic Duo” piano concert.
“It’s taken a lot of practicing, leading up to this special evening, with so much new repertoire to learn, but I’m beyond thrilled to be taking the stage with my dear friend, Judith Lynn. Through the years, we have stayed connected in our shared love of piano,” said Rudess.
The concert will take place on Saturday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert comes as part of Rhode Island College’s Performing Arts Series.
It will feature the works of Mozart, Brahms and more.
Since 1999, Rudess has been keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire for Dream Theater, a platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated progressive rock band that has millions of fans on four continents. Voted “Best Keyboardist of All Time” by Music Radar Magazine, Rudess has recorded eight studio albums as a member of Dream Theater.
The band’s latest album, “The Astonishing,” is a rock opera.
Stillman, an internationally-acclaimed award-winning pianist, composer, and filmmaker, has received bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Juilliard.
She has performed throughout the world at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Tanglewood and shared a stage with musical luminaries like Wynton Marsalis, the Beach Boys, Boston Symphony and both the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic.
