“During this time of year we are especially mindful of the work by the food banks and hunger relief agencies across New England as they help make the holiday season easier for our neighbors in need,” said Suzi Robinson, spokesperson for Stop & Shop New England Division. “As a food retailer, fighting hunger is an integral part of who we are. Stop & Shop is fortunate to be able to help thousands of families in the communities we serve.”
More than 20,000 turkeys donated
This November, Stop & Shop will donate a total of 21,000 turkeys to local food banks and hunger relief organizations throughout the Northeast with its Turkey Express program, feeding more than 200,000 people. Deliveries will run through Thanksgiving.

Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs in RI total seven organizations with Clubs also in Cumberland, East Providence, Newport, Warwick and Woonsocket. Collectively, they provide educational and recreational opportunities in safe, nurturing environments to more than 20,000 members and their families statewide.
