A quadruple billing of multicultural music hit Bold Point Park on Friday, headlined by Rebelution and Stephen Marley. A beautiful evening of weather blanketed Bold Point Park, setting the tone for a night of cross-cultural music, ranging from reggae, to hip hop, to soul, to rock.
The evening opened with Zion I, a high energy hip hop duo from Oakland, CA. Common Kings (with roots from Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga) followed, bringing their upbeat soul and reggae sound to the stage. Stephen Marley was next, delivering many of his father, Bob Marley’s hits. The night closed with Grammy nominee Rebelution, a seven-member California based reggae group. Rebelution put on a powerful performance, with an incredible light show to match.
The beautiful vista of the Providence skyline, provided the perfect backdrop for this wonderful evening of great vibes and music.
