Sugar Daddies are alive and well in America, bestowing financial riches on younger "companions." Just not so much in Providence.
A recent survey of where the Sugar Daddies are in America was compiled by SeekingArrangement.com, a Web site dedicated to matching the older and well-off with the younger and ambitious. In other words, if you're a Sugar Daddy (or Mommy) looking for a hot young companion, or a "Sugar Baby" looking for that special older someone, you can find each other in plain sight on the matching service that's been featured nationally in everything from Dr. Phil and 20/20 to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Where the Sugar Daddies are
Where are the most Sugar Daddies, according to Brandon Wade, founder and CEO of SeekingArrangement.com? Not in Providence, which ranked #44 among the 50 largest US metropolitan areas. But there was a silver lining. "While Sugar Daddies are scarce in Providence," Wade said, "those who are Sugar Daddies there tend to be quite generous, spending upwards of $4,135 [a month] on the lifestyle." By "the lifestyle", Wade means the financial support of a Sugar Baby, which can range from expensive outings and gifts to rents or even college tuitions (one of SeekingArrangement's fastest-growing relationship areas).
That generosity puts Providence at #16 on the cities with the most generous Sugar Daddies, on par with Kansas City.

According to Wade, who assessed 5 years of data from SeekingArrangement.com's database, here is a profile of the average Providence Sugar Daddy:

If you're an aspiring Sugar Baby living in the Providence area, that may be enough, provided you can lure the 0.82 Sugar Daddies per 1,000 adult men into a mutually satisfying arrangement, the stated goal of SeekingArrangement. Want to up the odds? Head north to Boston, which has 3 times the number of Sugar Daddies and ranked #2 nationally. In the Boston Metropolitan area, approximately 2.47 out of every 1000 men are Sugar Daddies.
What does Boston promise, aside from better odds? A typical Boston Sugar Daddy has an average income of $254,823, is worth about $4.8 million, and spends approximately $4,111 a month on his "sugar addiction," as Wade calls it. Approximately 47.8% of them are married (one of the highest percentage of philanderers in the country). Maybe it's better to mine for sugar right here in the 401.
