Top Professors in RI Named by Princeton Review
Thursday, April 05, 2012
Five professors from Brown University have made the Princeton Review’s list of top professors in the country. In a new guidebook entitled The Best 300 Professors, the Princeton Review has teamed up with RateMyProfessors.com and students and administrators from the various colleges to compile a list of the most inspiring and effective undergraduate professors.
This is the first time that Princeton Review has created such a book, which was released on April 3. "We developed this project as a tribute to the extraordinary dedication of America's undergraduate college professors and the vitally important role they play in our culture, and our democracy,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's Senior VP/Publisher and author of the Company's flagship college guide, The Best 376 Colleges. “One cannot page through this book without feeling tremendous respect for the powerful ways these teachers are enriching their students' lives, their colleges, and ultimately our future as a society." The book contains profiles of each chosen professor and of the schools at which they teach, although neither the schools nor the professors are ranked in it.
Brown was the only Rhode Island school to have any professors included in the book, but with five professors, it is one of the most-represented colleges on the list. Here are the five who were ranked as some of the top professors in the nation.
