Sitting out under the stars in front of the big, glowing screen, is a distinct summer pleasure. We're lucky in RI that we have our own, still-active drive-in theatre (Rustic Tri-View on Rte. 146 in North Smithfield, 769-7601), and at $20 a carload, it's one of the best deals for a family night out (not to mention a cheap date).

But that's just the beginning. Outdoor films have made a great comeback, and this summer's there's a great mix in both Providence and other towns. So grab a beach chair, pack a picnic, and check out what's playing.
