Newport’s Cliffside Inn Named Top 10 Hotel for Dogs
Thursday, September 13, 2012
If your most treasured traveling companion has four legs instead of two, then Newport's Cliffside Inn is the perfect luxury getaway. The newly restored bed and breakfast right on the ocean has just been named by TripAdvisor as one of the Top 10 hotels for pets.
While you might be more interested in the recently renovated inn's antique furniture, whirlpool tubs and in-room fireplaces (much less the gorgeous ocean view), your dog will be simply delighted to be welcome at Cliffside's Seaview Cottage, which accepts dogs under 30 pounds. "The Inn is adjacent to Cliff Walk, a 3.5-mile, dog-friendly pathway overlooking the ocean," adds TripAdvisor. The pet fee is $50 per night.
The popular online travel site gathered its ranking from the most highly rated properties that allow pets as of July 30. After surveying more than 1,000 pet owners, they found that 49% plan to travel with their pets in the next 12 months, and 56% will bring their pets with them to stay in a hotel.
This is not Cliffside Inn's first shout-out from TripAdvisor. The B&B is currently the #1 out of 101 Newport B&Bs and inns on the popular site.
