NewportFILM + Tennis Hall of Fame To Show Film on Williams Sisters

The International Tennis Hall of Fame will partner with newportFILM on Thursday, April 25 to present a special screening of Venus and Serena, a documentary that gives viewers a look into the lives of two of the sport's most exciting and iconic athletes.
Cocktails and light food will kick off the night. After the film, director Michelle Major will hold a special Q&A session. A portion of the proceeds of the screening will benefit the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum. "newportFILM is excited to add The International Tennis Hall of Fame to the list of RI based non-profits that we partner with in an effort to raise funds and awareness for their mission through the lens of current, inspiring documentary film," says newportFILM Executive Director Terri Conners.
Set to be released by Magnolia Pictures on May 10, Venus and Serena demonstrates how the pair battled against all odds to become one of the most unstoppable forces in tennis.

Over the course of 2011, Venus struggled with an energy-sapping autoimmune disease, while Serena faced a life-threatening pulmonary embolism.
