NEW: RISD Named 3rd Most Fashionable College in the US

Her Campus, a hot Web site that bills itself as "a collegiette's guide to life," has just released a ranking of the country's most fashionable institutions of higher learning. Because it's not just enough to be smart... a girl's gotta look the part as well.
Creative minds
RISD, according to Her Campus, is "home to a slew of creative minds, ranging from art students to film students and architecture and fashion junkies - and if they weren't cutting edge, would the top dogs in the industry find them a highly-coveted spot at New York Fashion Week?"
Her Campus is referring to appearances that RISD students have made as part of the international fashion event (including the upcoming Fashion's Night Out challenge on September 8 in NYC)."It's not easy making it into the lineup at New York Fashion Week," says HC, "but the students as RISD have such an eye for style that their pieces have been featured on the fashion week runways."
RISD's top-three showing was bested only by Manhattan powerhouses Parsons the New School for Design and NYU. Behind RISD were, in descending order, Howard University, Princeton, Fashion Institute of Technology, University of Chicago, Florida State University, UC Berkeley and SUNY Purchase.
