NEW: Newport Comedy Series to Host Artie Lange, Nick Swardson

The Mattie Volkswagen Audi Newport Summer Comedy Series is thrilled to announce that Artie Lange and Nick Swardsson will be making their Newport Yachting Center debuts this summer.

Artie Lange

Lange, a regular on The Howard Stern Show for five years, will bring his popular and outrageous standup show to the Newport waterfront on Saturday evening, July 26th. Artie hosts his own radio show also seen on Direct TV, The Artie Lange Show. His memoir, Too Fat To Fish, became a New York Times Bestseller.

Nick Swardson

An accomplished comedian, actor and writer/producer, triple threat Nick Swardson will take center stage at the Newport Summer Comedy Series, on Friday evening, August 8th. Nick is best known for his recurring role as Terry Bernadino in the comedy series Reno 911!, which airs weeknights on Comedy Central at 6:30 PM and movie roles in Adam Sandler films including That’s My Boy and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Last year he performed in Grown Ups 2, the sequel to the hit film Grown Ups, in which Nick also appeared.

“Artie Lange is one of the most sought after live comedians of the business and we have been trying to bring him to Newport for the past five years, but the dates never worked out. Now we have him on July 26th for what promises to be an absolutely hilarious show, says Newport Summer Comedy Series president Joe Rocco. “Adding Nick Swardson was a nice suprise. He is extremely popular with the under 40 crowd, not to mention very very funny.”

Tickets for Artie Lange on July 26th and Nick Swardson on August 8th go on sale this Friday, May 2nd at noon.

Other performers in the 14th annual comedy series at the Newport Yachting Center include Bill Cosby, Amy Schumer, Mike Birbiglia and Jim Jefferies.
