Brown University has been named to the Huffington Post's list of "Top 10 Most Hipster Colleges".

Not even making the list last year (something that caused a bit of an uproar, according to an editor's note this year), the Huffington Post has seen the light and placed Brown at number six in its annual listing. The university is the lone school representing New England and the Ivies as well. The only other East coast pick is Parsons The New School of Design in New York.

"Not only is Rhode Island the seventh-most hipster state in America -- due in large part to Brown's student body," writes the Huffington Post, "but the school boasts some of the most famous hipster alumni in the world." Evidence of what they call a "paradise for hipsters," Brown has spawned some pretty hip alums, including actress Emma Watson, filmmaker Todd Haynes, author Jeffery Eugenides, and Lisa Loeb.
