Olyneville Sound System made the floor shake this weekend at Providence's Dusk.

Dusk was the absolute best place for some of the best live music Providence has to offer. Electrified rock & rollers Fall & Bounce, the dynamic duo of VulGarrity and drum & bass legends Olneyville Soundsystem rocked the stage on full effect to an audience that loved every minute of it. I always enjoy basking myself in Dusk's classy ambience, spectacular selection of brews and always having awesome music blasting through the speakers.

Fall & Bounce

Fall & Bounce featuring the only lead singer worthy of comparing to Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, Malyssa Bellarosa, unreal and amazing guitar skills from Billy Reed, the groovy bass rhythms of one Christine Hauck and Jamie Craighead acting like a maniac on the drums had the crowd captivated with their take no prisoners brand of rock & roll. A set that had people mesmerized with "Baggage", "Discard", "Pay The Price", "Kitty", "Let It Go", "High", "Truth Be Told", "Drunk Text", "Headlines", "You Don't Know", "Broken", "Stones" and "Beautiful Lies" was emphatic and magnificent, when the unified sound Fall & Bounce has hits you there is no pain. Fall & Bounce currently has their debut album out titled Knicknack Avalanche, a piece of music that's a thing of pure bliss.

VulGarrity

VulGarrity is one of the most original and inventive bands you'll ever see. Brother and Sister duo Shawn and Tracy Garrity combine to bring epic and infectious rock & roll by combining rhythmic drums, snarling bass lines, synth keyboards and purely badass guitar riffs to create music that will blow your sense of thought into smithereens. They came up next and they conquered with "Boogeyman", "Funkeology", "Middle Finger Machine Gun" which had Shawn and Tracy switching from bass to drum and vice versa half way through, a cover of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" featuring Bellarosa and Hauck respectively on vocals and bass along with a blistering guitar solo finale from Shawn, "Good Times", "Victorious", "Silhouette", "Plane In The Water", "All Hallow's Eve" and another cover but this time a fantastic rendition of The Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This".  Vulgarrity has a new album under the name Funkeology next month and I guarantee it'll be out of this world.

Olyneyville Soundsystem

Headlining the night were a band that has been around for a little over 15 years now, Olneyville Soundsystem and their drum & bass music I like to call "Olneyville Jazz" made the floor shake with their recoiling tunes that had you feeling as if your getting a full body massage. Adam Autry's illustrious drumming that was all over the place and Dan St. Jaques fuzzy bass are eyeopening and straight up lovely whenever these guys play together, if aren't hooked when you hear the uniqueness then you probably should never listen to or see live music ever again. "Reange", "Moron", "On The Fritz", "Olney At The Top", "Cha-Cha-Cha", "Albert Einstein", "Pump Machine",  "Street Boogie", "Sexual Perversion", "Steppin' On Toes", "NYC Cab Ride" and "Dynamite" had people going crazy and loud with applause. Whenever Olneyville Soundsystem Plays, it's sure to be a experience you won't forget. A fantastic evening at the best new music venue in Providence, log on to www.duskprovidence.com for the scoop on what's going on at must see place to check out.
