There's nothing wrong with seeing something different that wows you and at Fete this past Sunday it was the perfect time to do it. Instrumental post-rock power duo El Ten Eleven headlined a show in the lounge with electronica artist Eliot Lipp opening the show. After a fun weekend the best way to end it is another helping of spectacular live music. When you want go to out and have fun, Fete is one of those places where you have to be.

Eliot Lipp

Straight out of Brooklyn, Eliot Lipp started things off with an array of beats and samples to provide a groovy electronic sound. Varying from chillwave to pure techno and even a little bit of crunk (yea that's right), Eliot was definitely on point. My main reaction was relief for the fact that he wasn't a dubstep hack, because I heavily despise dubstep of nearly any kind. I wish the people were more into it, Eliot seems like the perfect guy you want spinning a dance party in your basement. Needless to say, I want to see Eliot DJ a club soon so I can go and get all sorts of crazy.

El Ten Eleven

After a little while the lights dimmed a bit and El Ten Eleven took the stage in front of a crowd that was in the midst of a craving. When I say craving I mean they were like a pack of rabid zombies waiting on a fresh human heart. With a double neck guitar and drums El Ten Eleven went right into a rhythmic expedition and had everyone in a trance. You gotta love the guitar tapping from Kristian Dunn and the rapid drumming from Tim Fogarty, they exuded so much energy it was astounding. A whole lot of looping was going on with Dunn's switching up of bass and guitar, the more and more they played the more the audience started moving. They even did an instrumental rendition of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android" to finish off a portion of their set that had my eyes bulging. There were a few technical difficulties, but who cares? El Ten Eleven were simply amazing and as a self-professed instrumental rock junkie I loved it from beginning to end.
