Moses Brown School held its fifth 2030 Forum, an annual summit for exploring the future of education. This year’s objective was to help design new models for student civic engagement.
At the start of the current school year, Head of School Matt Glendinning posed the question: How can we help students engage more actively in their communities, applying what they’re learning in school to make a positive difference in the world?
MB welcomed 60 creative collaborators from several community organizations to propose solutions: Inspiring Minds, Reach Out and Read RI, Dorcas International, Brown, DownCity Design, BIF, MET Center & School, Social Enterprise Greenhouse, Institute for the Study & Practice of Nonviolence, Outpost Journal, PASA, Swearer Center, Leadership+Design, Friends Council on Education, RI Foundation, American Friends Service Committee, URI Business Engagement Center, Phoenix House, and Blackstone Academy, as well as many others.
