Misquamicut FallFest Announces Final Line-Up

The Misquamicut Business Association has announced the final line-up for FallFest from September 12-14.
The Fourth Annual Misquamicut Fallfest weekend follows the success of the past three years of festivals, which attracted over 10,000 visitors each from Rhode Island, Connecticut and nearby states. Misquamicut Fallfest will kick off a weekend of live music, rides, local food, wrestling, Acrobatrix and more on Friday, September 12th at 5pm. Music begins with Haunt the House, The Savage Brothers and Who Are You: A Celebration of The Who at 5pm and a world-class Acrobatrix show between 6:30 and 9:30. From then, until 5pm Sunday, September 14th, FallFest features high-gear entertainment and activities for the whole family.
Besides a full line-up of entertainment on THREE stages, the Fallfest features an outdoor international food court, BBQ Smoke Off with Celebrity Chef Demo, a chock-full midway of rides and games including Ferris Wheel, a petting zoo and pony rides, and two classic car shows with raffle and entertainment. New this year –"No Regrets at Fallfest" September 13th from 8-10pm and Ocean Expo featuring New England Surf and Science on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is $7. Parking is free. Children 3 and under are free.
Shop, drink, Eat, and more
Over 15 New England food vendors will be on hand to serve local festival favorites from chowder to sausage and peppers, fried dough, kettle corn and seafood dishes. In addition, over 30 crafters and commercial vendors will sell their wares. Kids can enjoy henna tattoos, hair wraps, and face painting while adults can enjoy craft shopping for handbags, t-shirts, jewelry, and housewares. Classic Car Shows will be held Saturday from 11am until 3pm with Gary Pom and Tribute. Sunday the show will take place with Crusin’ Bruce Palmer from 11am until 3pm. People’s Choice awards and trophies. There will be a raffle with multiple prizes.
Music
Rock with your favorite music as the MBA brings headliners to the spacious Ametek Oasis Music Tent. The Savage Brothers and Who Are You: A Celebration of The Who kick it off Friday night. Roger Ceresi: All Starz, Elliott Lewis of Hall and Oats and the Weekend Wilbury’s with a tribute to Tom Petty, George Harrison, ELO, Roy Orbison and more bring it home Saturday Night. An array of local bands including The Beach Band, Spirit Shaker, Black and White featuring Erik Narwall, Jason Cardinal and Freddy and the Yettis will keep the tunes flowing daily, providing non-stop music on two stages.
Ocean Expo
The Misquamicut Business Association in coordination with New England Science & Sailing and The Hartford Marathon Foundation will bring you the Misquamicut Fallfest Ocean Expo & Surftown Half Marathon where the Land and Sea meet at spectacular Misquamicut Beach & beautiful Winnapaug Pond for two days of Land, Ocean & Pond Adventures. Visit Misquamicut State Beach on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 & 14th from 12-5 for special activities and programs celebrating our wonderful resources. On Sunday watch as thousands take the streets of Misquamicut to run the Surftown Half at 7:30 a.m. presented by The Hartford Marathon Foundation.
Family Fun
Walk the midway of world-class rides including the Ferris Wheel, Scrambler, kiddie rides and games. Little ones can visit the Circle K Petting Zoo, enjoy pony rides, and the watch the Interactive Hula Hoop Dancer. On the Westerly Hospital Stage, enjoy Magic with Larry and David, Bwana Iguana Reptile adventures and much more! Princess Anna and Queen Elsa from “Frozen” will perform the hit songs from the movie and sign autographs.

Folk music has been a presence in Newport since 1959, when the Newport Folk Festival was founded by George Wein. Backed by board members Pete Seeger, Theodore Bikel, Oscar Brand, and Albert Grossman, the Festival became renowned for introducing a number of performers who went on to become major stars, most notably Joan Baez (who appeared as an unannounced guest of Bob Gibson in 1959), and Bob Dylan, whose first Newport appearance, as a guest of Joan Baez in 1963, is generally regarded as his premiere national performance.
