Summer is all about getting out there and having fun! Your makeup can help you look as good as you feel by staying put! Take a look at some of our favorite picks.

Moisturizer

Tinted moisturizer is the ultimate summer must-have. Not only does it even out skin tone, it also infuses your skin with moisture when it is dehydrated by the sun and movement. The sun saps the skin of moisture and, sweating, while good for the waistline, also taps your body out. Be sure to drink lots of water to hydrate from the inside and use tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher for the ultimate UV protection. Great choices are Stila Sheer Cover Tinted Moisturizer ($34, The Apothecary Newport) and Wet 'n Wild Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer, SPF 15 ($4, drugstores).

Mascara

You can still rock gorgeous lashes while running on the beach or relaxing on the boat. Waterproof mascara has come a long way from the days of thick goop that would not budge! Coat your top lashes only for a daytime look then add another coat and one on the bottom to go from sweaty to soiree without missing a beat! Try Paula Dorf Lash Color ($20 at Bellevue Beauty Walk, Newport) or Maybelline's Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Waterproof Mascara ($7, drugstores).

Powder

Nothing helps makeup stay put more than powder. Whether pressed or loose (which we prefer!) powder sets everything in place and refuses to quit. For summer, the best thing to use is translucent powder, which keeps makeup in place, eliminates shine and does not add color. We love Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent ($34, Nordstrom at Providence Place) and CoverGirl TruBlend Mineral Loose Powder in Translucent Medium ($10, drugstores).

Lip Gloss and Lipstains

Lipstain is one of the best lip products around because it stays where it's supposed to: your lips! Stain and some gloss go a long way to keep your lips colorful and moisturized without having to reapply constantly! Load up on Pixi Lip Blush ($18, Target) and Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother ($7, drugstores) or or Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm by Colorstay ($8, drugstores).
