Monteiro spearheaded a successful fundraiser for the Billy Taylor House in December as Executive Director, and has been a consistently outspoken advocate for community youth programs to address violence in the city -- and preparing the next generation of Providence leaders.
Watch for Monteiro to continue to be at the forefront of the community in 2015 with the renovations of the Billy Taylor House -- Monteiro already provided a sneak preview of the program workbooks on Facebook, along with a quote. "If we are not willing to do something about a problem ourselves....than we have no right to complain about it. And never wait for someone to do for you.....that which you are fully capable of doing for yourselves."

There are a lot of changes taking place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, as it is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion -- and 2015 will mark the first full year with its new CEO, former world #4 Todd Martin, at the helm.

On November 6, the number of women on the Providence City Council increased by 100%.
