Gordon School Earns Spot in FIRST LEGO League RI State Competition

The Gordon School CyborGators of East Providence won 1st place in the FIRST LEGO League State Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, November 21st. The CyborGators now advance to the FIRST LEGO League Rhode Island State Competition which will be held on January 16th at Roger Williams University.
State Qualifying Tournament
The tournament saw seventeen Middle School teams from more than 12 towns and cities in Rhode Island compete for ten slots in the Rhode Island state finals.

The challenge asked teams to explore the world of trash, from collection , to sorting, to smart production and reuse.
The students had to invent a solution to help the trash problem and create their own Lego Mindstorms robot to accomplish trash themed "missions" on a playing field.

The Gordon School hosts students from nursery through eighth grade and is a coeducational independent school.
