You know it's summer when plump, juicy strawberries are ripe for picking.

Now's the time to pick your own strawberries and celebrate the delicious fruit. Perfect to eat as is, blended into smoothies, baked into pies, made into jam or as the perfect ice cream topping.

The strawberry season starts mid-June in Rhode Island but depends on the weather and the individual farm. Call ahead before heading out to pick to avoid disappointment. Bring your own containers if possible.
