Thursday, December 29, 2011

The Daily Beast - the online news publication and owners of Newsweek magazine, have used "science" to determine the Drunkest Cities in the US. Guess how our little capitol city did?

According to the Daily Beast, "to compile the second annual list of the “drunkest” cities in the U.S., The Daily Beast first analyzed data from Experian Simmons, a leading market-research firm, which provided data on the average number of alcoholic drinks per month the residents of more than 200 cities across the country reported to have consumed in a survey from earlier this year."

New England

The number one city in America was no other than Boston, MA.

The surprise placement was awarded to Springfield, MA at #2.

Burlington, Vermont scored the #11 position.

For Providence, a #21 ranking.

According to their numbers:

Avg. monthly drinks consumed per person: 13.9
