“Dior and I” Coming to Rough Point in Newport

NewportFILM invites the public to an outdoor screening of the film Dior and I by director Frédéric Tcheng at the Rough Point mansion of the late heiress Doris Duke, located at 680 Bellevue Ave., Newport on Thursday, August 21 at 7:45 p.m. The screening will be followed by Questions and Answers with Tcheng
Dior and I explores the creation of Raf Simons’ first Haute Couture brand as the Christian Dior companys’ Artistic Director and the creative process, from beginning to conclusion, as he works with his team on the project.
From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the public is invited to listen to the live music of YellowRed and visit the current exhibit at Rough Point called No Rules: The Personal Style of Doris Duke, which includes some pieces designed by Dior and will be on display for one night only.

Picnics are encouraged and there will also be food vendors and a bike valet. The rain location will be the Casino Theater located at 9 Freebody St., Newport.
The event is sponsored by Kirby Perkins Construction, Libby Kirwin Real Estate and the Newport Restoration Foundation.
The screening is free with a $5 suggested donation. The exhibit will cost an entry fee of $5.
