Columbus Day Festivities Coming to Federal Hill

It is almost time for the annual parade, great food and Italian heritage celebration on Federal Hill on Columbus Day Weekend.. Considered the ‘Heart beat of Providence” the Hill offers visitors "charm, warmth and hospitality dating back to the traditions of  Italian immigrants who the fabric  and character of the Hill for so long."

The Association is pleased to announce this year’s festival will feature two entertainment stages each day, amusement rides, games, dozens of food and retail vendors and the annual parade. This year many Federal Hill restaurants have expanded their seating onto the street and will be serving food all weekend.

The festival begins on Saturday, October 10th at 10am until 11pm. On Sunday October 11th, the annual Columbus Day Parade kicks things off at 11am and the festival is open until 11pm.

On Monday Columbus Day the festival will run from 11am – 8pm.  Atwells Ave for the entire festival will be closed from Dean to Sutton Streets.  The parade route is from Harris Ave to Dean Street and will be closed during the time of the parade. For more information visit FederalHillProv.com

This year's opening reception is at noon on Saturday at the Depasquale Plaza stage. The Association will honor Carmine Balzano a former President of the Association and a long time supporter of Federal Hill. Live entertainment will be featured each day at stages across from Depasquale Plaza and outside Bank of America. A schedule of entertainment is attached. Additionally, Siena Restaurant & Trattoria Roma will feature live entertainment each day.
