If you’re new to town and looking for fashionable, inexpensive clothes, we have the list for you. These consignment, thrift and vintage shops have great brands for great prices.

Second Time Around, Providence

Located right on Thayer Street, Second Time Around provides easy access to gently used, good quality clothing. There is a wide variety of shoes, accessories and both men’s and women’s’ clothing. This great vintage shop also has a high-end section where you can find the top-brands for less, plus in great condition. And if you’re looking to make some money, you can even consign some of your own clothes either through appointment or, drop off (where you’re unusable clothes will be donated).  294 Thayer Street. Foreign Affair Warehouse, Providence 

From 50’s cocktail dresses to 80’s frocks, Foreign Affair Warehouse is the stop for vintage clothing. Located at 140 Brook St, the shop even has clothes from the Victorian era. Open Monday-Saturday 11am-8pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm. 401-274-1484. See them on Facebook, here.

Salvation Army, Providence

The classic win-win: cheap clothes and giving back to the community. Clothes are jam-packed and require a little digging, but you will be sure to find some great things. All the while, you are giving back to the community. Open Monday-Friday 9am-8pm and Saturday 9am-6pm. 201 Pitman Street, Providence. 401-421-5270. www.salvationarmy.org

Savers 

Savers is the expanding shop where you can help your local charity while not breaking the bank. Savers has endless racks of clothing, shoes and accessories. If you search hard and get lucky, you could find Dolce & Gabbana or Juicy Couture for less than $10. Your purchase will help Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Ocean State. Marshalls, Lincoln (good for Bryant students)

This Marshalls is the perfect stop for Bryant students. There are endless racks of new clothing from a wide variety of brands. You can also find an assortment of shoes and jewelry to complete your look—all for less.  622 George Washington Highway #303. TJ Maxx, Newport (good for Salve & RWU students)

TJ Maxx is just fun to shop at. Nothing is better than seeing the amount of money you’re saving on the price tags, and you’ll never be disappointed by the array of brands.
