Children’s Museum Honored for Serving RI’s “Most Vulnerable Children”

Every year, Children's Friend and Service pauses to acknowledge another organization or individual that furthers its mission.
At this year’s annual meeting, Children’s Friend presented the annual Michelle Norris Memorial Award to the Providence Children’s Museum. The Michelle Norris is presented to an individual or organization that has provided extraordinary support and/or assistance toward the agency’s mission of improving the futures of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children. The award is presented in memory of Michelle Norris, a Central Falls first grader who was abducted from her neighborhood and murdered over 10 years ago.
Representatives and staff from the Children's Museum were on hand to receive the honor.

Since its founding in 1834, Children's Friend has provided child welfare, family support, mental health, and youth development services.
