Talk about a bright night.

The award-winning vaudevillian act, BAMBOUK, featuring a blend of juggling, magic and comedy performed by two elegantly dressed clowns will headline this year’s Bright Night Providence. Tickets are on sale now for the artist-run, family friendly New Year’s Eve festival in downtown Providence featuring 50 performances including Grammy award-winning storyteller/singer Bill Harley, Big Nazo Puppets, a special Bright Night Poetry Slam and much more.

“The City of Providence is thrilled to provide financial and technical support to Providence’s premier New Year’s Eve celebration that attracts families from all over New England,” said Lynne McCormack, Director of the City’s Department of Art, Culture + Tourism.  “Under Adam Gertsacov’s leadership and the extraordinary talent of local artists, Bright Night Providence captures the energy and excitement of the Creative Capital.”

BAMBOUK an international sensation

BAMBOUK, a clown theatre extravaganza, has performed in China, Japan, Mexico, the Caribbean and all over the U.S., and has won numerous awards including the prestigious Sherman Brothers Award for Best Clown Duo and the 2010 Golden Nose Award for Best Clown Act.  BAMBOUK has also shared the stage around the world with award-winning circus artists from the Moscow Circus, Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe, Big Apple Circus and Cirque du Soleil.

“These guys are out and out hilarious,” said Adam Gertsacov, Bright Night Festival Director.  “I saw their Off-Broadway show a couple of years ago and have been thinking about having them for Bright Night ever since.  It’s the kind of show that’s silly enough for kids and smart enough for adults.  It will leave the whole family laughing.”
