If sleeves and dragons are not for you, temporary tattoos are a huge beauty trend of late. Chanel started things off with its hand-drawn tattoos by Global Creative Director of Makeup, Peter Philips. Other brands have followed suit and we found some local places to get your tat on, pain excluded!

Famed tattoo artist Kat Von D (of Miami Ink on TLC) and newly minted cosmetics queen has a series of temporary tattoos complete with stars, skulls, words and angels. Easy to use and even easier to remove, you can make a statement for one night or one week. Available at Sephora, Providence Place, $25.

Urban Decay, known for its outlandish and extremely fun makeup offers Body Jewelry Temporary Tattoos at Ulta in Warwick, $25. Chains, charms, Urban Decay symbols, feathers, stars and more adorn your body to rock the night away.

TEMPTU, the legendary airbrush makeup queens offer chic temporary tattoos in varieties like Girly Chic (think hearts and flowers), Seductive Chic (think lips and fleur de lis) and Tribal Chic (think tribal designs and bands), each $25 at Sephora, Providence. Each set comes with a setting powder and tattoo sheets.

Tips for Rocking Temporary Tattoos:

    * Be sure to follow the instructions carefully including cleansing the area thoroughly and making sure it is dry. A wrinkled, crinkled tattoo looks messy and amateur.
    * Placement is everything; if the tattoo is a necklace, be sure it is placed where a real necklace would be. If you plan on wearing the tattoo on your back, neck or shoulder, have someone help you so it’s even, centered and looks polished.
    * Express yourself: temporary tattoos are made to be accessories that enhance your look and can be worn as flirty, fun or fierce.
