Norwood Baptist Church

Warwick

On Saturday May 3rd, the folks at the Norwood Baptist Church will be celebrating their 89th May Breakfast. A lot of these breakfasts are as much about the event as the food but this is one where the food takes center stage. Made-to-order eggs are the star here. Fresh and hot and fluffy, in past years these eggs have rivaled those at top-notch breakfast joints. This is also a good spot for gift baskets. These feature the traditional fudge or flowers along with surprises.

Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church

Cranston

The Grand-daddy of them all is the nearly 150-year-old breakfast at the Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church. They keep the menu fairly close to the original with eggs and clam cakes finding room side by side on the menu. The breakfast takes place on Thursday, May 1st and was recently featured in Patricia Schultz's 1000 Places To See Before You Die...wow! You can also enjoy presentations on the history of the breakfast.
