From festivals to food, it's a rich winter weekend in Rhode Island. Here are your five must-do events.
Chinese New Year in Pawtucket
Saturday Celebrate Asian heritage and the New Year again as Blackstone River Valley hosts the Chinese welcoming of the year of the dragon. This ancestral New Year celebration will feature special performances featuring calligraphy, Chinese language, and martial arts demonstrations as well as traditional and contemporary song and dance by the Wenqin Art Troupe of Zhejiang University of China, Chinese Folk Art Workshop of Boston, Star Chinese School, Mei Mei and Me, and RI Kung Fu Club. Free Admission. Lunch is available at $5 per box. Plenty of public parking nearby. 10:30 am-3 pm, at Tolman High School, Exchange Street, Pawtucket.
“Bold and Bright” Art Exhibit in Bristol
Friday-Sunday Brighten up your winter landscape by heading over to Gallery Eleven Fine Art for a new exhibition, “Bold and Bright”. Original, colorful works of art ranging from paintings in watercolor, oil, and acrylic to pastels, monoprints and ceramics will warm the winter cold away. Red, White, and Blues Fundraiser at Trinity
Saturday Add some Red, White, and Blue to your social calendar this weekend with Trinity Reparatory Company’s Red White & Blues, a casual evening featuring food, wine, and dancing to the music of local band The Silks. The wine tasting will be complimented by delicious culinary offerings from several local restaurants. Red White and Blues will feature tastings from local restaurants Gracie's, Nick's on Broadway, Tini, and more! Proceeds from the night will go towards Trinity Rep.
